The Beta Eta Chapter of Delta Gamma is recognized throughout the nation and throughout the Greek Community at UT as an outstanding chapter. Last spring, Beta Eta was honored with the distinction of the 2012 "Chapter of the Year" at the National Delta Gamma Convention, among many other prestigious awards. Delta Gamma's dedication to the community and continuing excellence in education are what makes our fraternity such a successful organization.

President Lara Christie
Welcome to the Beta Eta chapter of Delta Gamma at the University of Texas at Austin!
My name is Lara Christie and I am the current President of Delta Gamma here at the University of Texas at Austin. I am honored to have the privilege to serve my chapter and lead my sisters for the next year, and cannot wait for all that Beta Eta has in store.
Delta Gamma is a sisterhood enriched through our shared tradition and the diverse and talented group of women. We at UT have a strong and flourishing chapter, as evidenced by the national and local awards we have received. This past summer at the 65th Biennial Delta Gamma Convention, the Beta Eta chapter was awarded Delta Gamma Chapter of the Year - an award we are immensely proud of. Additionally, we have maintained one of the highest GPAs among all Panhellenic sororities at UT.
Beta Eta is additionally impassioned about our philanthropy, Service for Sight. We are lucky to have the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired located 5 minutes from UT campus, which allows us to participate in hands-on service and fosters relationships between Delta Gammas and TSBVI students. Delta Gamma is also the only chapter on campus to collaborate with the University to bring a biannual lectureship speaker series. I am fortunate in that lectureship will take place this fall during my term as president. Past speakers have included Hotel Rwanda hero Paul Rusesabagina, as well as Charlotte Benson and Collins Touhy. Each of these speakers has enriched the UT community with their speeches over values and ethics, and I cannot wait to see who this year's lectureship will bring.
Overall, we have an unrivaled sisterhood that I am proud to be a part of. Delta Gamma has introduced me to a group of women that I can undoubtedly say I have formed friendships with for life. Every member of this chapter has helped me grow and pushes me to be the best version of myself. Through service and social events, significant accomplishments and meaningful everyday moments, my Delta Gamma sisters have impacted my college experience in the best way possible.

Best,
Lara Christie
